Books are not just for avid readers they are for everyone and can work for any theme. Wedding centerpieces with books could be a pile of romantic novels, maybe with a named bookmark for everyone to take home as their favor. Or it could be your favorite book that you have both enjoyed or one for each of you - it is a great way to show your individuality and also to share a great read. Your books don't have to be new - that would cost a fortune! No, the best books for cheap centerpieces are those that are free or very cheap. You are looking for donations for free or thrift stores if you want cheap. The centerpiece doesn't just have to be books but can be a combination with a vase of flowers on the top of your favorite books. If you are looking for a themed centerpiece then books fit the bill very nicely, if it is a football party then a pile of your sporting heroes or even match programs. Don't use your most prized possessions but try and pick up somebody else's at a garage or yard sale.
If it is a baby shower then it could be baby name books and a how to guide! We all have one of those lurking in the back of the book shelves!
