Candles can be displayed in many ways. Elegant and classic candelabras are a fairly inexpensive centerpiece, ask your venue if they have candelabras that you can use for your event, most do and they normally won't charge you any extra. Taper candles for candelabras come in many colors and for Christmas you could be looking at silver, gold, green and red. Wrap ivy around the base of the candelabra and you are ready to go. Make your ivy and possibly holly more sparkly by sprinkling glitter on them.

Floating candles also are magical and you could have 3 to 4 cylinder vases in the middle of the table of various heights, fill the base with beads and then have cranberries in the water, top it off with a floating candle. Try and find a floating candle that is almost the same size as the vase, this way your candles won't float off to the side.

Flowers and candles as a centerpiece are very popular for Christmas parties as they are fairly inexpensive from the florist and so there is minimal work involved for you. If you want to make your own then make your display in florist oasis, place the candle in the middle and then have greenery - holly, ivy and evergreen barnches fill around the candle. Add splashes of color with the flowers which you can place in prominent positions. Always use the expensive materials in the places that they will be seen more easily.

Wrapped Christmas presents as your centerpiece make a fun display, make them as gorgeous as you can, you will want ribbons, sparkles and some fabulous wrapping paper. Have different size gifts to make the display more visually interesting. Of course you can also make your gifts real - the big box could have lots of silly table games that your guests could play during the party.

Christmas party table decorations are not just about the centerpiece you will also want to think about the table linens that you use, hiring your cloths will be the easiest option as they will also launder them for you. If full colored table cloths are too expensive have a look at making table runners that add a bit of Christmas color. Napkins will also be needed and if you are planning lots of parties over the Christmas season you may want to look at very good quality paper napkins.

If you want to add some table sparkle then table confetti is a cheap way to add sparkle, this stuff should come with a health warning as it ages to clear up - you will be finding it for weeks after!

Of course, no Christmas table would be complete without Christmas crackers, they alone will make a table very Christmassy!

Have fun creating your Christmas party table decorations!
