Favor Centerpiece - Ideas For Inexpensive Centerpieces
A favor centerpiece is a great way to save money and there are many ways to create unique centerpieces with your favors. The giving of party favors is a way of allowing guests to take home a piece of the celebration. In years past, it has been customary to display the favors by the reception area’s doorway where guests could immediately get one as they enter the function room. It has also been popular practice to load the favors in beautifully decorated baskets and have someone give them out during reception. Surely there is an easier and more cost-effective way to go about it. One solution is to group together party favors and have them as centerpieces. If you must spend a bit more on the party favors you will save more money in the end by going without traditional flower arrangements. How do you go about it? Get your creative juices flowing and think of combining flowers, food, balloons and other small items that you can fuse together to make for unique favor centerpieces.
One great idea is grouping together potted plants for a fresh country-flavor favor centerpiece. Pick a flower that best suit the event’s theme. Paint the pots with acrylic to match the flower. Tie a ribbon round the pot. Bow the ribbon and in its middle tie a pouch of seeds of the same potted flower with instructions on how to plant them. Make sure you have note card next to the potted flower centerpiece that says "take me home" or "pick one" or "I am yours". What about a centerpiece made of fruits? Look for small wicker baskets or berry baskets. Pick fruits that are in season. If there are 8 people per table then you would need 8 small baskets. Fill each basket alternately with the fruits you bought. For example if you bought kiwis, oranges and grapes, then fill each basket with these fruits in an artistic way. Remember, small wicker baskets or berry baskets. Do not overdo the fruit baskets. Insert a twine in the basket with a note that says "eat me!" or "bite me!" Of course what you write in the card depends on the occasions. If it is a formal occasion make sure the cards are properly worded.
Another great idea for a centerpiece is a bowl filled with sand, a sprig of water plant and a goldfish. This is great for a beach, barbecue or an ocean-inspired theme. Kids will especially love this favor. Make sure though that you bag some fish food for guests to take home too. Cupcakes arranged artfully at the center of a round table are another great favor centerpiece. For a table of 10, arrange 10 boxed cupcakes on the table’s center. Make sure that cupcakes are boxed in clear plastics so that they could be seen. Be-ribbon the cupcake boxes for a more festive look. You can then add some flowers around the base of the cupcake arrangement for more volume. You don’t need to put up a card prompting guests to take home the boxed cup cakes as they will, whether you say so or not. For a long table favor centerpiece try lighting up the table with mini lanterns. Buy some silk flowers that match your theme and attach one on the lantern making sure you attach some ribbons on the handle too. Put a tea candle in the lantern and light it up. The effect will be stunning. Make sure you leave a card that says "let me light your way, take me home." A balloon and candy bouquet, individual flower arrangements in small glass bowl, a champagne glass filled with candies... ideas for a favor centerpiece are limited only by your imagination.
