Hawaiian Centerpieces - Inexpensive Table Decoration Ideas

Hawaiian centerpieces are great for all sorts of parties, from wedding centerpieces to more relaxed beach centerpieces this theme will be perfect.

There is something about Hawaiian-inspired parties that make you want to throw caution to the wind and just go crazy. Planning and hosting a Hawaiian-themed party kind of falls into the category of whatever rocks your boat - which goes to say that there is no wrong or right way to do this kind of party. You can use the theme for a birthday party, wedding shower party, anniversary or an engagement party or for a simple get-together party. The truth is you do not need a reason to throw a Hawaiian party.

There is no need to set up a Hawaiian or Luau party on the beach or pool or any body of water. You can throw one out at your backyard and just create the right ambiance. You do not have to spend a lot of money on decorations as you can create inexpensive table decorations for the tables to set the mode.Think of the sun, surf and sand. Buy artificial white sand from a flower or craft shop. Line a flat square ceramic plate with the sand. Place a pillar candle off center and add some shells around the candle for added interest. This is one inexpensive Hawaiian centerpiece. Do as many as you need and add some color by using colored marbles or stones in addition to the shells.

Another easy and simple Hawaiian centerpiece can be achieved by lining the middle of the table with palm leaves. Throw some cut flowers (without the stem) all over the palm leaves and create points of interest by adding votive candles here and there. This set up is quite informal but the essence of a Hawaiian party is wonderfully emphasized by this centerpiece. hawaii centerpieces, by RBerteig

Get a round clear vase for the next centerpiece idea. Hawaii is all about tropical plants and flowers so buy some birds of paradise and put them into the vase. Fill the clear vase with small pebbles to hold up the plant. Fill with water and you have one elegant yet inexpensive Hawaiian centerpiece. A variation is using bright colored dahlias or gerbera flowers. Bunch 8 to 12 flowers together, tie them and cut into one length long enough for the chosen glass vase. Put the flowers into the vase then fill the vase with colored stones the same shade as the flowers. After securing the flowers with the colored stones, fill the vase with water up to the stone’s level.

A Fruit Centerpiece is also a good idea. Put a bunch of bananas, pineapple, kiwi, oranges, and sliced watermelon on a tray lined with banana or palm leaves. If these leaves are hard to come by, you can just cut green colored paper and cut them into shapes. Arrange the fruits appetizingly as they could serve as desserts too. You might want to add some flowers on the fruit centerpiece for accent.

You can add some petals and sliced lemon and lime to float with the candles. Another option is to line the glass container with sand, float some candles and put in some shells and fake starfish for effect.

For a real classy Hawaiian centerpiece, make a flower arrangement of pineapple and tropical plants. Center the whole pineapple on a wicker or shallow clay pot container lined with floral foam soaked in water. Arrange strands of different colored orchids, birds of paradise, aster and dancing ladies around the whole pineapple. Surround the pineapple and flower arrangement with votive candles on clear glasses with wired ribbons.

What is so great about Hawaiian centerpieces is the fact that they can bring you a feel of the sun, sand and surf.
