How To Make A Towel Cake Centerpiece

Making a towel cake centerpiece for a gift for a house warming, baby shower or bridal shower is a cute way to gift what could be a fairly practical and boring gift.

You will need 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 6 tea towels. Plus corsage pins to secure, double sided tape, ribbon and any extra items that you want to decorate with.

towel cake centerpiece, by Siti Saad Start by prepping your towels and for this you will need to open up the towel and then fold the towels length ways into a third, next you will roll the 2 bath towels together to make a nice big roll and then follow this with the other towels for each layer. You will secure the rolls in place with corsage pins.

Next find a cake board or a tray that will hold the bottom layer of bath towels and then stack the other two layers on top, just like a cake. Secure the layers together with pins.

Now comes the fun part - decorating! Use anything you want to decorate. Use the ribbons along the edges of the layers to disguise the joins and make it more cake like.

Decorations could be yellow rubber ducks, cuddly toys, or baby stuff for a baby shower.

A housewarming centerpiece could have added kitchen utensils or cleaning products for a giggle!

A bridal shower centerpiece could be decorated with flowers and anything girly that she loves.

Whatever you choose will be perfect!

Here is a video on how to make a towel cake if the above made no sense what so ever! Here you will be shown how to put together a square towel cake.
